Ensuring Safety and Visibility with Expert Floodlight Servicing

Floodlighting is a critical component of any artificial sports facility, providing consistent visibility, supporting safe play, and enabling extended use during darker months.

Over time, masts, lamps, and control equipment can degrade, affecting light levels, safety, and reliability. Regular inspection and servicing are essential to ensure optimal performance and prevent unexpected failures.

Technical Surfaces offers a comprehensive floodlight servicing programme designed to maintain, optimise, and report on the condition of your lighting systems. From raising and lowering masts to inspecting lanterns, electrical connections, and control gear, the service ensures consistent illumination and trouble-free operation throughout the year.

Floodlight servicing includes a full inspection of masts and lanterns. Masts are assessed for vertical alignment, structural condition, and the operation of raising, lowering, and locking mechanisms. Technicians check foundation bolts, lantern bracket fixings, and the presence of covers and locks, providing detailed reports to highlight any issues requiring attention.

Lanterns and electrical components are inspected for condition, tightness, and secure mounting. Front glass is cleaned, seals are checked, and control gear is visually examined to ensure consistent performance. Lubrication is applied where necessary to maintain smooth operation of all moving parts.

Services are structured as either a one-day or two-day programme, depending on the number of base-hinged columns. One-day services typically cover up to six columns (or four using alternative mechanisms), while two-day services cover larger systems, ensuring each site receives a thorough, tailored inspection.

Any additional requirements, such as replacement lamps or cherry-picker hire, are quoted separately, ensuring facilities can plan budgets and maintenance schedules accurately. With decades of experience, Technical Surfaces has delivered floodlight maintenance across hundreds of facilities since the 1980s, offering expertise, safety, and reliability for every project.
