Sand filled surfaces

Servicing sand filled pitches

Professional servicing keeps sand filled pitches performing safely consistently and reliably year round

Planned maintenance removes contamination restores drainage maintains fibre structure and extends surface lifespan ensuring pitches remain safe playable compliant and cost effective for schools leisure centres and community sports facilities

Maintenance and Care

To maintain performance and safety, sand filled surfaces require regular drag brushing, Power Sweeping and deep cleaning (Revite®).

Over time, the sand can become contaminated with debris, detritus and broken-down carpet pile, reducing drainage and the surface performance. Routine maintenance helps keep the fibres upright, the sand evenly distributed, and the surface free-draining and safe for play. Periodic deep cleaning (Revite®) also helps extend the lifespan of the pitch and Rejeneration® can be completed when the drainage is compromised and standing water and surface silting is evident.

The Sand-Filled system

2nd Generation (2G) sand filled pitches are versatile artificial grass systems commonly found at schools, leisure centres, and community facilities.

The surface is made up of tufted synthetic fibres filled almost to the top with kiln-dried silica sand. This creates a firm, stable playing area that’s ideal for a wide range of sports and general recreational use. Sand filled pitches offer excellent durability and multi-sport functionality.
