Lines no hazard to Technical Surfaces

//Lines no hazard to Technical Surfaces

The build up of painted lines on a syntheitc pitch can cause annoyingly uneven ball roll and bounce. But it can also pose a slipping hazard to users if left unchecked, according to maintenance company Technical Surfaces.

At Dame Alice Owen School in Potters Bar, applications of football and hockey markings over the years had caused a gradual accrual of paint build-up across the surface of the synthetic pitch.

The school had chosen to include a safety inspection report as part of its annual maitenance contract, so the problem was identified at an early stage. The company removed the lines using specialist equipment, before giving the surface a thorough clean and football and hockey lines were re-marked on the surface, restoring the pitch to a safe and usable condition.

Safety inspection reports monitor the condition of the playing surface along with the pitch equipment, perimeter fencing, surrounds and access.
